Oxford's Legendary Student Funk Band

Tunes we love

Here's a feature we just arbitrarily made about we sporadically post a song that's got a member of the band dancing in the street? In theory it was going to be "song of the week", but I think that's asking for trouble. Check out the cheesy captions below!

By the way, this page is very much a page under construction. I just kind of made it up. But there's some cool music here, and I'll leave it up until someone else in the band with a bit more common sense notices and asks me to replace it with something boring. Boo!

I've had this stuck in my head all day
30 September, 2015

Here's a song chosen by Josh, the guy who probably shouldn't have been left alone with the website without an adult. Sorry.

If you're a fan of jazz but want something a little bit different, check out Soil and Pimp Sessions...they've got some properly fun stuff! This is Funky Goldman, a really chilled out tune that I can guarantee might or might not get stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Enjoy!

Dan got Soul!
June 19, 2015

This weeks' Tune of the Week is brought to you by Dan Mort, DFO Drum Master.

Check out this amazing song by DFO favourite Tower of Power! This is Soul with a Capital S, a song we loved so much that we've added it to our set. We hope you get to see us playing it live sometime soon, but until then enjoy this recording from the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2006. (That's Tower of Power, not us. Just to avoid any confusion.)

Selali's Feeling High and Mighty
March 4, 2015

This tune's a cracker chosen by Selali, DFO's Hard to Handle vocalist.

"Lid est laborum dolo rumes fugats untras. Etharums ser quidem rerum facilis dolores nemis omnis fugats vitaes nemo minima rerums unsers sadips amets. Sed ut perspiciatis unde omnis iste natus error sit voluptatem accusantium doloremque laudantium, totam rem aperiam, eaque ipsa quae ab illo inventore veritatis et quasi architecto beatae vitae dicta sunt explicabo."

Who would have thought that Selali speaks Latin?! Crazy, isn't it. Yes, OK, I left the placeholder text in here. I'm experimenting! He doesn't even know this bit's up here at the minute, although he did recommend the song. And in fairness, it is an awesome song. Why are you still reading this, go and listen to the song!
